A person is addicted to sugar if he craves for sugar-laden food and finds it nearly impossible to control sugar intake. When before, people’s attraction to sugar is only taken to be a mere psychological dependence, today’s studies show that there are occurrences of withdrawal symptoms, moodiness and irritability when abstinence from sugar was made. This only indicates that the dependence is physical, not psychological.
Many people living in the United States, Australia, Canada and other western societies are addicted to sugar.
