Methamphetamine is one of the dependence forming dangerous drugs taken by many abusers all around the world. It is considered dangerous because the side effects of meth are quite harmful, even fatal. There are many side effects of meth, some of which are heart palpitations, high blood pressure, dizziness, hallucinations and allergic reactions. These are just few of those effects that would need immediate medical attention.
Meth, or methamphetamine hydrochloride, is a drug that may or may not produce side effects to its users. Some abusers manage to tolerate it very well. Some side effects of meth may be minor and are therefore not easily recognized. These minor effects may easily be treated. Some side effects however are quite serious and demands immediate attention not only from a doctor but also from the abuser’s loved one. Some of such effects are suicidal thoughts, tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, confusion, strange behavior, aggressiveness, agitation, impotence, shakiness and severe hallucinations.
Some of the side effects that can be considered minor are itching, development of tics (uncontrolled mouth, arms, head, neck or leg movements), allergic reactions, rashes, hives, swelling, abnormal good mood (euphoria), insomia, headache, diarrhea or constipation, dry mouth and many others.
These side effects of meth may be easily recognized or may not be obvious at all. Some abusers are good at hiding their feelings for fear of being exposed. Nonetheless, if you are really concerned and do love the person who may have addiction problems, it would surely be apparent to you if such a problem do exist. Should a problem like this occur to a loved one, it is important to immediately put him under rehabilitation and detoxify his body from the dangerous drugs that is already in his system. Severe patience and love will have to be shown to the abuser to make him feel that he is not alone and he has reason to become better. The treatment to this addiction should not only be medical but also psychological.
